Sixth Incision [Voice, Action]
[Action, Part One]
[It's been several days since the Kin'Corans have returned home -- several days in which Syre has been oddly at ease with herself.]
[Today, however, she feels... anxious. antsy, even.]
[The rush of recently arrived New Feathers make her want to go out and about, possibly get acquainted with some of the new faces. Of course, anyone she already knows is free to bump into her, as well!]
[Voice]
[Later in the evening, she sets up a feed for a little voice chat.]
Good evening, friends and New Feathers -- that is to say, anyone that has just recently arrived to our fine enclosure... My name is Syre Atries.
Rather than waste your time with a wordy introduction, I'd like to pose a question.
Are any of you interested in the sciences? Biology, specifically. I've been wanting to get back to my research as of late, and it's quite hard to hold a discussion when there are so few that enjoy it as much as I do...
[Action, Part Two]
[Then, later that night, Syre is going to be roaming about the plaza. More specifically, she's going to be people watching -- the few people that are out and about at this time of night will not be spared her studious, almost analytical gaze.]
[Those of you that notice her watching are free to question why she's staring at you like a scientist would study a lab rat, of course.]

[Voice]
[...] To whom do I have the honor of speaking with, by the way?
Re: [Voice]
Loki.
[Voice]
A pleasure to be having this conversation with you, Sir Loki. I'm certainly delighted to have met a fellow scholar.
Re: [Voice]
[Grin.]
Simply Loki is well enough. And trust me when I say I feel just as delighted, if not moreso.
[Voice]
Ah, very well then, Loki. I was unsure whether you would rather be addressed more formally -- I don't like to offend.
Re: [Voice]
Is that so. Perhaps we ought to have a little party at some point, then, since it's not much of a physics session unless the walls end up covered in equations.
[He grins.]
Very polite of you.
[Voice]
I try. After all, being in the service of a royal family for so long has its way of leaving its mark on you.
[Voice]
That might be a good idea, though I suppose we could always make do with ink and pen, or pencils. Sticks and dirt?
[He tilts his head.]
Oh, which family?
[Voice]
Ah... Before I arrived here in Luceti, I was one of the few that worked in the service of the Emperor of my homeland. While my time with him was limited, his wife and family were more than willing to receive me as a guest for a time.
[Voice]
Well, it would be nice to preserve our mathematical wanderings for posterity, it's true.
That sounds like a great honor indeed.
[Voice]
It is. It really, truly is. Nothing in my homeland compares to it. [There's a sadness to her voice when she speaks next:] I miss it sometimes.
Re: [Voice]
[He tilts his head curiously. It's a foreign thought to him; there's little he really misses of Asgard like that, and of course it's his intent to be back there and ruling soon enough.]
Is it the warm reception you received that you miss so?
[Voice]
I miss my colleagues, and my work as well...
["I miss having a purpose," is the unspoken end of that thought.]
[Voice]
[Well, not the colleagues. The work, definitely.]
[Voice]
At home [--in the middle of the war--] I had new endeavors to take each day. Here, I've fallen into a routine which I don't very much like.
[Voice]
I shudder at the thought of a routine.
[Voice]
[She'd been considering taking up her research once more, anyway. She'll need to see if the library has any of the works she'd published, but...]
I loathe things being predictable. Predictability brings with the sense that one cannot do much of anything to change it.
[Voice]
[That is a dangerous, beautiful word. It's one Loki likes.]
Perhaps some unpredictability is in order, then.
[Voice]
[He seems trustworthy enough.]
[Voice]
[Voice]
[There's an amused, almost giddy chuckle on her end.]
Reminds me of when I was young. I was a mischievous little one, according to my parents.
[Voice]
[Voice]
There was an "incident" [--the word is said with a hint of a smile in her tone--] in which one of my less-behaved officers reported in with a set of women's armor on. Pretty sure he began to mind his manners after that.
Re: [Voice]
How did you manage that, praytell?
