[ Helios is just trying to melt into that wall now, okay? Okay. ] Th-there's a number of things y-you could do. I-I don't know wh-what you would prefer a-aside from what you mentioned though...
[ His voice is barely above a timid whisper as he tries his best to fight the urge to run. He'll bite his lip wincing and cringing. ] I-I'm sorry. I-I don't really know, know what to say.
no subject
[He rolls his eyes in mock-exasperation.]
Do you think that the idea of simply talking has not crossed my mind?
[His hands slam down on either side of Helios' head.]
I'm tired of talking. I want to do something else now.
[Helios can almost hear the smile in Syre's voice.] Why don't you show me something, hm? Humor me, if you would.
no subject
He flinches and cringes trying to move away. ] Sh-show you? Wh-what? Wh-what do you w-want me t-to show you?
[ Hunching, cringing, waiting for a slap to the face or those harsh hands to grip into his shoulders. Gods it's all the triggers that he doesn't want to have or remember. All the things that make him incapable of thinking. ]
no subject
Show me... what you can do.
Anything that you can do...
[He lifts the mask just enough so that his lips brush against Helios' ear.]
Satisfy me, Helios.
no subject
P-Please d-don't do th-that.
no subject
[For a moment, the shift is forgotten -- a feminine laugh leaves his lips as his fingers trace Helios' jaw.]
Why... is that?
[The sudden burst of wind that separates them -- briefly -- is also surprising. Syre pulls back, the smile still on his lips as he lowers the mask again.]
You've caught my attention, Helios. What else can you do?
no subject
[ He really doesn't want to talk about it especially to Syre of all people right now. Too much pain and hurt and sorrow are wrapped up in its explanation so he tries to move away some more, wincing as he wings are lightly scrapped along the wall of the building. Helios blinks fighting that stinging sensation in his eyes as he does so. His stomach drops at those words. Gods of all the times to catch someone's attention. He was stuck wasn't he? And no one would be there to get him out of this one, that much he was certain. ] It-it's m-magic.
[ That's all it was. Simple magic and nothing more. ]
no subject
[Especially since such feats in his homeland required skill that took years to hone...]
[And took years from one's time.]
[Syre lowers his hands.]
This "magic"... how hard is it to learn?
no subject
[ He doesn't mention the filial spirits because someone like Syre could be dangerous when using them, especially when he was like this. ]
no subject
And if one has never used this magic before, how could one have "dealings" with it? Your words confuse me.
no subject
[ Such a blatant lie to your face Syre. Clearly there is something Helios isn't saying as he rubs the inner palm of his bad hand, wincing at the action. ] It-it's different f-for everyone here. But there's, s-spirits you c-can contact and, and l-learn magic from.
[ It doesn't sound very plausible, does it? But it's the truth at least. Another wince as he moves away a little from Syre. He needs space. ]
no subject
[His voice is calm and even, but his eyes reveal a glimpse of the smoldering anger hidden just beneath the surface.]
You "don't know"? For someone who doesn't, you know an awful lot of these spirits.
[His tone is hard and demanding as he speaks his next sentence.] What else do you know?
no subject
[ Another subtle wince as he moves some more against the wall. ]
no subject
[His voice rises considerably with the demand, Syre's patience growing short.]
Clearly, you know how to do it, if such feats come so easily to you -- what do you do!?
[Helios knows something Syre doesn't -- he knows of these spirits, and Syre doesn't -- what does Helios have that he doesn't?!]
[His hand collides with the wall, a foot away from Helios' head.]
No more of these games!
no subject
[ Oh gods. Please do not hit him. He will tell you whatever you want just...don't hit him. His reply is a stammered sentence as his mind races a little to think up a reply. ] It-it's d-different for everybody. I-I contacted them th-through, through m-meditation. It-it d-depends on the p-person.
no subject
[There's a tense silence, almost as though Syre is about to snap again.]
[Instead, he draws his hand back from the wall, his knuckles considerably bloodied, before speaking again, eerily calm again.]
How... interesting.

[Then, suddenly, he turns his back to Helios.]
Go. You've served your purpose.
[Then, as an added threat:]
Unless you'd like me to continue with what I had in mind to begin with.
no subject
P-Promise me, you, you won't hurt a-anyone... [ He should just leave shouldn't he? Yeah he's just...going to move away from Syre. But he'll never forgive himself if he hurt anyone else. ]
no subject
[There's a faint turn of his head, and he lifts the mask just enough for Helios to see the smile that curls his lips.]
And I always honor my word.
[He turns away again, waving his hand in an almost nonchalant manner as he stalk away.] Take care, Helios...
